Complete Guide To Dermarolling
Share
You may have heard a lot of talk about dermarolling or home microneedling over the last few months but you are unsure on what this process is or what benefits it has on your skin?
Well sit back and spend the next two minutes to yourself and learn about dermarolling and all its glory it does for your skin.
DERMAROLLER - WHAT IS IT?
Dermarollers are non invasive, home, hand held tools which is rolled on the surface of skin. This creates tiny punctures on the skin which triggers skin repair. This leads to the body making new collagen. By doing this, proteins called amino-acids, build up in the collagen. This is the part of the connective tissue that helps in tightening , firmness, suppleness, and elasticity in skin. A short-term controlled injury to the skin is the purpose of applying a dermaroller to your skin. The reason why is to trigger the protein in our skin for the production of healthier younger looking complexion, reduces the appearance of scars, and smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (amongst countless other benefits we’ll get to).
Image A.D.S Dermarollers consist of 540 titanium needles and we have both 0.2mm and 0.5mm in length. We will get to the difference and benefits of each shortly.
Choosing Your Dermaroller Size For Your Needs
Dermarollers come in different size needles ranging from 02.mm all the way up to 3.0mm. There are a lot of people providing false information about choosing the correct needle size. What we recommend is 05.mm or anything under is perfect for at home rolling. Needle size over 0.5mm, we would recommend going to a professional and getting it done there.
At Image A.D.S we currently provide 3 options for home use which are
0.5mm dermaroller - Boost Your Skin’s Production Of Collagen And Leave Your Skin Glowing, Smoother And More Evenly Toned! Great for reducing visibility of fine lines and wrinkles, but also amazing for skin in need of a tightening effect. This is suited for anybody looking to treat wrinkles, fine lines, stretchmarks, UV damage, light scarring, and hyperpigmentation. It also helps in the boosting of product absorption for quicker and more efficient results
0.2mm dermaroller - This safely & effectively improves the overall texture and tone of your skin, leaving you with a healthy and vibrant glow and a naturally younger looking appearance. Ideal for younger skin or if you have thin or sensitive skin or are new to microneedling. This sleek skin roller promotes circulation, encourages natural exfoliation, and softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.Even with the shorter, gentler needles, you will still get plump, glowing skin with diminished pore size.
0.2mm dermapen - is an alternative to the Image A.D.S Dermaroller, as it uses the same form of skin needling but with enhanced precision for specific, localised skin problems and hard to reach areas. The Image A.D.S Target Dermastamp 0.2mm is ideal for use around the under-eye and peri-oral areas of the face & hard to reach areas under and around the eye area, to help restore volume and firmness in minutes.. The delicate eye area is one of the first places to give away our age and also the most difficult area to treat due to the sensitivity and thinness of the skin. Specific scars and ageing concerns can be targeted to encourage rejuvenation of the skin site.
Are you repeatedly buying home skincare serums, creams etc, then you need to be dermarolling!
Did you know that only 4 to 8 percent of that expensive serum you’re using on your face actually penetrates your skin? One of dermarollings additional appeals is that it improves product absorption tremendously. Studies confirm that the treatment can actually help topical serums, creams, elixirs penetrate skin more efficiently, allowing you to reap the full benefits of any product. This makes total sense considering the fact that dermarolling creates thousands of invisible holes in your skin that are ready to absorb products in a way clogged pores can’t.
- Diminishing fine lines
- Fading stretch marks
- Improving skin texture
- Treating hyper pigmentation
- Improving atrophic (rolling, pitting) acne scars
- Breaking down scar tissue, allowing re-organisation of cells.
How often to use your dermaroller
Some information you read will tell you to roll every day. Please ignore this. It will do more damage than good to your skin. Every bodies skin is different due to different factors such as age, concerns & what you are looking to achieve. It can vary from monthly to weekly rolling but here is a good guideline to follow
- Image A.D.S 0.2mm Dermaroller - 1 - 3 times weekly depending on your skins tolerance
- Image A.D.S 0.5mm Dermaroller - Once a week.
- Image A.D.S 0.2mm Dermapen - 1 - 3 times weekly depending on your skins tolerance
